Resilience in Reentry: Cognitive-Behavioral Resilience Training for Parolees With Adjustment Challenges

This pilot study assesses the feasibility and acceptability of delivering a brief Cognitive-Behavioral Resiliency treatment to a population of recently released parolees. This study will also give a preliminary indication if the treatment is associated with reliable improvements in adjustment symptoms and well-being for parolees.

Comparing Two Types of Supportive Interventions for Caregivers of Patients With Cancer

The purpose of this study is to compare two types of therapy for caregivers of cancer patients: Emotion Regulation Therapy for Cancer Caregivers (ERT-C) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-C). The researchers want to see if ERT-C is better than, the same as, or worse than traditional CBT-C at improving caregiver distress. The researchers will look at how the two types of therapy affect caregivers' anxiety, depression, and quality of life. The researchers will also see how ERT-C and CBT-C affect hormone and stress levels in caregivers' saliva samples. In addition, this trial will enroll cancer patients in this study to see how their caregivers' participation in ERT-C or CBT may affect the patients' quality of life, stress, and use of healthcare services. Participants who become bereaved while on study will be given the option to withdraw or remain on study. Assessments for bereaved caregivers will not include the Caregiver Quality of Life Index-Cancer (CQOLC) or the Caregiver Reaction Assessment (CRA).

Supporting Peer Interactions to Expand Access to Digital Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Spanish-speaking Patients

Investigators will evaluate the implementation of an evidence-based, Spanish-language, digital, cognitive-behavioral therapy intervention (SilverCloud) in primary care settings for Latino patients with depression and/or anxiety. 426 participants will be enrolled in a two-armed trial comparing self-guided vs. supported dCBT (SilverCloud). At the provider level, investigators will compare the efficacy of provider referrals with the use of a clinic patient registry to identify candidates who could benefit from a digital mental health intervention.

VR-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Prehabilitation for Spinal Deformity Surgery

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether a virtual reality-based cognitive behavioral therapy (VR-CBT) prehabilitation program can improve recovery and quality of life for adults undergoing elective spine surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does participating in an 8-week VR-CBT prehabilitation program before surgery improve physical function and pain-related outcomes at 12 months after surgery? Does VR-CBT prehabilitation reduce postoperative anxiety, depression, and pain interference compared with usual preoperative care? Researchers will compare participants who receive the VR-CBT prehabilitation program plus usual care to participants who receive usual preoperative care alone to see if the VR-CBT program leads to better recovery and patient-reported outcomes. Participants will: Use a VR headset at home to complete structured CBT-based prehabilitation sessions over 8 weeks before surgery. Attend routine clinic visits and complete questionnaires about pain, function, mood, and quality of life before surgery and through 12 months after surgery. Allow the research team to review their medical records for information about surgery, complications, and postoperative recovery.
